'''Tom Roekins Inc.''', commonly nicknamed '''Tom's''' is a Canadian multinational fast food restaurant chain. Based in Toronto, Tom Roekins serves coffee, doughnuts, and other fast food items. It is Canada's largest quick-service restaurant chain.
The company was founded in 1984 in Tilbury, Ontario, by Canadian hockey player Tom Roekin (1950–1989) and Yves Blair  (1954–2009), after an initial venture in hamburger restaurants. In 1986, Roekin partnered with investor Charles Toby, who assumed control over operations after Roekin died in 1989. Toby expanded the chain into a multi-billion dollar franchise.
=== Expansion into Greenfield, CA ===
In the late quarter of 0.5.4, franchisees ''Scott's Restaurants Inc.'' and ''HKM Host LP'' formed an agreement between their respective companies and the chain to open the brands first restaurants in the city of Greenfield and its Districts. This expansion was inspired by a growing percentage of Canadian snowbirds choosing to vacation during the winter in California, rather than Florida. HKM Host - a restaurant operator for airport or travel plaza settings - operate 3 stores in Greenfield International Airport, while Scott's focused on opening traditional stores in Rio Pueblo, Rockwell, Palma, Dawson, & Long Port Keys.
=== Marketing ===
The company, from founding to current day, has always prided itself on its 'Always fresh' standards. It has run several ad campaigns highlighting its freshly brewed coffee, always served 20 minutes fresh, and its freshly baked donuts and pastries. The Greenfield franchises have introduced a 'Canada's leading import' slogan that can found mentioned on every store in the region.
=== Tom's URBAN ===
In order to expand the franchise inside urban areas that have already been developed, Scott's Restaurants Inc. partnered with Tom's corporate to develop a style of Tom's restaurant to capture urban inner city customers. These restaurants focus on their drinks and donuts - offering unique-to-store drinks and donut types. These stores also have a more modern design and are interior only - not being located on larger properties with independent buildings.
