Right after the tragic death. The only founder left, Starcourts retired and went to live in a farm out in Ohio. His son Steve Starcourts was now the owner of the company. He expanded extremely fast. From 1978-1994 the chain got 120 new locations in the USA, including the first one on the west coast in 1980 in New York City.

the company was founded in 1974 by three men: Bob Starcourts, James Dunphy and Joe Smithson. It started off as a small device store called Starcourts and associates. After multiple name changes and much controversy this company is now one of the leading device brands in the world!
