The suburban developments engulfed a small town near the Greenfield city center called Los Llanos. The town wasn’t considerable and was almost demolished to make place for the complexes constructed around the city. Some shops and the iconic church remain from what used to be Los Llanos. The rest was all redeveloped into new strip malls and housing. In 1972 a big industrial plant was taken down at the request of the citizens. The City of Greenfield redeveloped the plant into a small neighborhood with several stores and a bowling alley. In 1979 a warehouse was destroyed and turned into the Los Llanos High School.
