Santa Cecilia

Santa Cecilia is a designated community area on the south side of Greenfield, California. It is located south of Downtown Greenfield and sits along the Pacific Ocean.

This district replaces the former areas of Longport Keys East and Longport Keys West

History

The city was found and settled around 1872 when the Greenfield area started growing in popularity, however, due to flooding issues the eastern area was not built on untill 1922 when the church church name was built, some houses were built but nothing significant. In 1936 the ground was broken for a road layout in eastern Santa Cecilia. From 1936-1958 the area slowly grew, with a few houses and shops popping up here and there. In 1958 a new main road was planned, but unfortunately a bunch of houses had to be destroyed for it to take place, but unfortunately in 1959 the new main road got laid out from the southern downtown all the way to eastern Rockwell. This road did add a lot of popularity to the area, especially because of the recent boom of population in Greenfield. Many new houses and condos were built etc etc
