Polaris comprises numerous affiliated businesses, all of which fall under the Polaris brand. With a diverse portfolio spanning multiple industries, the company has emerged as one of the highest-grossing technology companies globally. In the fiscal year 2023, the company reported a record-breaking US$198,000,000,000. As of January 2023, Polaris is the second-largest personal computer vendor by unit sales and the largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world.

Polaris was founded on October 27th, 1985, although its history and founding origins significantly predates this date. The company's story intertwines with the rise and fall of Bakewell Holdings, a Boston-based trading company established in 1902. Initially successful, Bakewell ventured into warplane manufacturing during the 1940s and 1950s, and subsequently expanded into the field of computing in 1964.
